Branch Council 2023: ASU Proud

On November 30 our annual Branch Council met, comprising of elected delegates from the across our ASU industries.

The Branch Council considered feedback from the thousands of members, and hundreds of delegates, who completed our annual member survey in October. From this the Council developed a new strategic plan for our union for the next 6 years.

Delegate Awards

We congratulated Julie Perkins on winning Delegate of the Year.

ASU delegates Katia Munoz, Tonya Lee and Patrick Walsh were recognised for their specific contributions to their industry and we awarded Life membership to Geoffrey Fuller and Michael Flinn.

Peace now, solidarity forever.

The Council also affirmed our union’s commitment to peace, justice and liberation.

We heard from Kate Lee, former ASU Assistant Secretary and Executive Officer of APHEDA, Union Aid Abroad.

The Council condemned war, violence, anti-semitism and islamophobia and reiterated the Branch’s call for an immediate ceasefire in Palestine.
